Provides youth on the spectrum an opportunity to participate in organized basketball program. In addition provides a platform to establish friendships with others that they may not have an opportunity to meet under their current circumstances. Also gives the kids an opportunity to gain coping skills through sports and work on social skills

Amateur boxing training offered for youth ages 8-19 from 4:30-8:30 pm M-Fridays. All skill levels available. Prior boxing experience not needed. Our program also includes weekend trips to participate in boxing competitions and sparring events with other youth boxing clubs. Also, every child/youth participant can simultaneously enroll in our other educational programs, which include small business training, life skills workshops, leadership development, supportive counseling and summer outdoor learning. The latter entail recreational trips to state parks for hiking, canoeing, rock-climbing, camping and swimming, as well as a 4-day wilderness expedition on the Appalachian Trail.

Hartford Proud provides basic dance/drum lessons designed to teach foundational techniques, rhythm, and coordination in a structured and engaging environment. Participants will also engage in team-building activities that strengthen collaboration and improve memory through movement, repetition, and interactive learning exercises.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of golf in a fun and supportive environment while also developing important life skills such as perseverance, responsibility, respect, and sportsmanship. In addition, eight Hartford-based teenagers will participate as Youth Mentors, building their own leadership skills while guiding and supporting younger participants throughout the program.

The program will culminate in a three-hole on-course experience where Youth Mentors assist children during play, followed by a closing celebration with pizza, cupcakes, and medals for all. Every participant leaves with new skills, increased confidence, and the shared pride of building community through the game of golf.

Active City’s Spring Tennis Program introduces youth to the fundamentals of tennis through fun, engaging instruction that builds confidence and core skills. Players will develop technique, coordination, and game understanding in a supportive environment designed for both beginners and those looking to improve.

We’re ditching the boring laps and leveling up with a mix of stretch therapy and mobility to get you moving like a pro, plus plyometrics to give you that explosive "pop" off the track. We’re hitting functional training to build a rock-solid core and cranking it up to max velocity so you can finally see what your top gear actually feels like.
