Hartford Youth Sport Collaborative

The Hartford Youth Sport Collaborative (HYSC)  is a collective of Hartford based youth-serving sport organizations who have come together to improve the quality and accessibility of organized sports and recreations programs across the city. We hope to build collaborations and partnerships that will have a city-wide impact in advancing and sustaining the sport-based youth development landscape in Hartford.

The HYSC consists of organizations that have been committed to providing Hartford youth with quality sport programing for many years. We hope and expect to bring more organizations, coaches, and community members to the table as we continue our work. Hartford LadyCanes Basketball (Girls)

Hartford LadyCanes, GHYMCA, Justice Education Center, and Active City are partnering to provide The Hartford Girls Basketball Program which will empowers girls through tiered basketball opportunities—introductory, intermediate, and competitive levels—combined with holistic wellness activities like leadership training, mental health support, and nutrition workshops, fostering confidence, teamwork, and personal growth in a supportive community environment.

Saturday HoopstersBasketball

Saturday Hoopsters is a recreational basketball program for kids ages 5-12. Hoopsters runs on Saturdays in the winter.  We welcome young athletes who live, love, or learn in Hartford.  Kids will play organized basketball, learn to compete, improve their skills, make new friends from around the city, and have fun.

Developing the Future Autism SportsBasketball

Beginners recreational basketball for students on the Autism Spectrum. It will incorporate beginners basketball skills and provide an opportunity to acclimate themselves to socializing with other students on the spectrum. Youth who are on the autism spectrum ages 10-19. Charter Oak Boxing Academy (COBA)Boxing

COBA’s Free Eight Week Training Camp will introduce & instill in your child: the Fundamental Skills, Training Drills, Mindset and Norms of USA Boxing Amateur sanctioned and certified gym. Contact is not required and any child who completed the training camp and wants to become part of the COBA Family will automatically be accepted !!!

Cost - FREE (Boxers have to purchase $5 hand wraps at orientation)

Certified coaches with many years of experience. Program training focuses on conditioning and teaching the fundamentals of competitive Double Dutch/skip rope for girls & boys. All skill levels welcome in a safe, family oriented, fun environment.

Cost - $25/month (multiple child support available)

AmiGolf AcademyCardio-Golf

Program designed for girls 5-13 ages Participants learn the mechanics and biomechanics of the golf swing while working out and burning calories. The program is designed to support the development of physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains: Cardiovascular, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, Accuracy.

Hartford Soccer ClubSoccer

HSC is offering winter training and futsal teams for interested players. This program offers weekly training and competitive play in an indoor setting - a recreational futsal league operated by Hartford's department of Sports & Recreation. Travel players and rec players interested in spring travel teams are encouraged to participate.

 2-4-1 SportsSports Sampling

The 2-4-1 Winter Carnival is a celebration of outdoor winter play, reminiscent of a time when the cold weather was not seen as a barrier, but rather as an enhancement to the fun. Emphasizing the joy of playing in the crisp winter air, this event is particularly focused on showing children the value of outdoor activities. The carnival offers a weekly opportunity for kids to engage in outdoor play, learn to organize themselves into small-sided games, and discover how traditional summer games can be transformed into exciting winter versions. Among the activities are favorites like team handball, Ultimate Frisbee, capture the flag, and touch football.

Wilson-Gray YMCAIndoor Soccer & Martial Arts

Indoor Soccer: This program is designed for children ages 5-10 who will have fun learning the basics of soccer and being part of a team. Players will rotate through skill instruction, drills, and games staying constantly active as they learn this fun sport! Program is included at no cost with a Y- family membership. (Ages 5-7 & 8-10)

Beginners & Intermediate Combined Martial Arts: This class offers a well-rounded approach that builds strength, coordination, agility, and mental focus, making it perfect for all fitness levels. Whether you're aiming to improve your fitness, learn effective self-defense, or master diverse martial arts techniques, our CMA class provides the structure and support to help you achieve your goals. Hoopwave Sports MentoringBasketball

HOOPWAVE is a grass roots organization who increase youth strive in life through the Prinicipal of Basketball. On of the Court we model character development and fundamental basketball training. Program training is comprehensive, and targets measured improvements in running, jumping, shooting and hooping in a safe and fun environment.

Hartford Soccer Club (HSC) is a youth soccer non-profit based in Hartford CT with the purpose of providing youth soccer at all levels at an affordable cost.  HSC runs programs for ages 3 to 19 at four different levels Soccer Basics, Recreational Soccer, Travel, and Premier.  Hartford Soccer Club offers soccer for all levels of youth players in Hartford so they can enjoy and improve at their own level. No player is ever turned away due to lack of funds.

Capital City Track ClubTrack & Field

Capital City Track Club (CCTC) is a year round community-based program offering track & field training and competition for boys and girls ages 7 -18 years old.  CCTC is a Club Member of USA Track & Field (USATF) and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Their Members compete against local and regional athletes of the same sex and age with the anticipation of qualifying for National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships.
