A FREE youth dance class for ages 13–18 offered in partnership with Hartford Sports & Recreation Department

Step into the roots and evolution of hip hop culture in this high-energy, community-based dance class hosted at Parker Memorial Community Center. Designed for teens ages 13–18, this 8-week program blends old-school hip hop foundations with new-school styles, giving youth the chance to learn, move, and express themselves in a supportive environment.

Whether you’re brand new to dance or already have experience, this class is open to all levels and focused on growth, confidence, and fun.

What you'll learn:

• • Old-school hip hop foundations and movement vocabulary

  •  Musicality, rhythm, and freestyle basics
  •  Confidence, self-expression, and creative exploration
  •  Respect for hip hop culture and community

This is a recreation-focused class, with the possibility of a future showcase.
