Heaven Skatepark is a free, community-built skatepark and creative space at Trumbull and Main Streets in Hartford, CT, directly across from Dunkin' Donuts Park. Founded and operated by Jose Camacho for the past 15 years, it gives Hartford youth and residents a safe, no-cost space to skateboard, create art, and build community.
Our mission is to promote active living, creative expression, and positive youth development by removing financial barriers to recreation. Skateboarding builds physical fitness, balance, coordination, and resilience, while the park fosters mentorship and a strong sense of belonging across generations of riders.
Heaven Skatepark operates under fiscal sponsorship from Knox Parks Foundation (501c3) via UnderGround Coalition LLC. We're proud to have received the first Tony Hawk Foundation grant ever awarded in Connecticut, recognizing our impact on the local skate community.
We host free programming year-round, including our upcoming Back to School / Stop the Violence event, combining active recreation with positive resources for Hartford youth. By staying free and open to all, Heaven Skatepark ensures cost is never a barrier to staying active and engaged.
